How blocking works on iPhone

You choose apps through Apple's own picker, so SETL never sees your list. It receives private tokens instead.1

From then on, your choices settle on their own: at bedtime, inside a scheduled block, or during a focus session you start yourself.

Everything you did not pick keeps working, including calls and your alarm. More on how the app blocker works.

Blocking apps: FAQs

What apps can SETL block?

Any app on your iPhone. You pick them from Apple's own app picker, so social, video, games, messaging, shopping, dating and anything else you have installed.

Can SETL block TikTok and Instagram?

Yes. Pick them once and they close at your bedtime every night, or during any block you schedule. See the TikTok guide.

Can SETL block websites?

SETL blocks apps and the website categories Apple's Screen Time framework exposes. It is not a full browser filter.

Does SETL know which apps I picked?

No. Apple hands SETL private tokens rather than names, so your choices stay on your phone.

Can I block different apps at different times?

Yes. Your bedtime list can differ from a scheduled block or a focus session, so work hours and nights can look completely different.

Can I block calls or my alarm?

No. Calls and your alarm keep working. SETL only touches the apps you choose.

Your phone can go to sleep first.
